Iowa zoo owner recovering from tiger attack

MANCHESTER, Iowa (AP) — The owner of an Iowa zoo is expected to recover from injuries suffered during a tiger attack.

The Delaware County sheriff’s office says 52-year-old Tom Sellner suffered lacerations to his head and torso in Sunday morning’s attack at Cricket Hollow Zoo in Manchester. He was flown to an Iowa City hospital.

A release from Pella Wildlife Company CEO and Sellner media representative Ron DeArmond says Sellner’s injuries aren’t life threatening.

Sellner was attacked while feeding an adult tiger. The tiger was not put down after the attack.
